Biography

Jean Prast, OTD, MSOT, OTRL, CHSE is a Professor in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program. Dr. Prast has experience in a variety of settings including inpatient acute care, outpatient neurology and community-based practice. Her specialty areas include neurology, professional and program development, fieldwork education, interprofessional eduation and practice, and simulation. Dr. Prast received received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Occupational Therapy at Saginaw Valley State University and her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Her areas of research and interest include neurology, acute care, interprofessional education, use of simulation in education, fieldwork education and community-based services. She is a certified healthcare simulation educator and actively involved in the development and implementation of simulations and interprofessional education in the college and community. Dr. Prast has published and presented at local, state, national and international levels on topics related to simulation, fieldwork education, community education and resources, interprofessional education and collaboration, and professional and program development.
