Biography

Dr. Julie Foss is an Associate Professor of Modern Foreign Languages, teaching French and foreign language teaching methods, and is a faculty member in the Roberts Fellowship Program. After earning a B.A. in French from Albion College and secondary teaching certification in French from Eastern Michigan University, she earned an M.A. in French from EMU and a Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from Michigan State University. Her scholarly interests include second language acquisition and pedagogy, particularly communicative and proficiency-oriented approaches to language teaching, and her frequent presentations at state, regional, and national conferences have focused on related topics.
