Biography

Hi there!

My name is Marcelina and I am the Admissions Representative for Gratiot, Saginaw and Shiawassee Counties. I am a proud SVSU alum and Saginaw native. I received my Bachelor of Social Work here at SVSU in 2020 and my Master of Social Work at Michigan State University in 2021, with a concentration in Orgainizational and Community Leadership. During undergrad, I was a student worker for Admissions for three years and discovered a true passion for higher education, I'm thrilled to be back home!

As a Limited License Master Social Worker (LLMSW), I am currently working on obtaining full licensure in Macro Social Work. It is so exciting to not only be an Admissions Representative, but to incorporate Social Work through the work we do.

During my time as a student, I was heavily involved. I was an Orientation Leader, Alternative Breaks Site Leader and particpant, Multicultural Student Advisory Board Member, and a faithful Special Olympics volunteer. More importantly, I was a commuter all while being involved. As the representative for local areas and mostly commuter students, I want you to know that you can still make your college experience as great as students who live on campus!
