Biography

Rebecca joined SVSU in September 1998. She holds a B.A. from Alma College, and an M.A. from Central Michigan University.  Prior to joining the SVSU community, she trained as a secondary school teacher, enjoyed teaching college courses (in English, literature, and business communications), and enjoyed teaching/mentoring youth who were enrolled in summer tutoring and success programs. 

In her SVSU role, she works closely with SVSU’s Office of the Registrar, academic deans, department chairs, and program coordinators; externally, she works with advisors, counselors, and administrators from many of SVSU’s partner community colleges to support transfer-related connections with the University. 

She enjoys her SVSU family, as well as a large, extended family outside of work. When not in the office, her favorite place to be is outdoors.  A favorite saying: “Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it.” – David Starr Jordan
